2023 UCCS Visual Arts Faculty Triennial Exhibition

February 2 - March 18, 2023

Curated by Lynné Bowman Cravens and Daisy McGowan

The Galleries of Contemporary Art (GOCA) presented the return of the much-anticipated UCCS Visual Arts Faculty Triennial exhibition. For the first time since the pandemic, brand new artworks from distinguished faculty will be on view in the Marie Walsh Sharpe Gallery at the Ent Center for the Arts through March 18th, 2023. The artists, whose works have been recognized in galleries and museums across the globe, guide the next generation of creatives in the classroom as they continue to expand their own craft. Check out the artistic practices informing future artists in Colorado Springs.

José Antonio Arellano, Assistant Professor of English at the United States Air Force Academy kicked off the exhibition with a Visiting Artist and Critics Series (VACS) lecture on Wednesday, February 1st at 6:00 p.m. and then on Thursday, February 2nd the artists and Lynné Bowman Cravens, GOCA Exhibitions & Events Manager, invited the community to join them from 6:00 – 7:00 p.m. for an opening reception. Throughout the run of the exhibition the artists will lead informal gallery talks discussing their art practices and the themes of the works on display.

The exhibition was collaboratively curated by Daisy McGowan, former GOCA Director, and Lynné Bowman Cravens, GOCA Exhibitions & Events Manager.
